Why should we invest in family photography? Great question! So I saw this picture flying around Facebook a couple of weeks ago. It was a chart and it listed how long a newborn is a newborn, an infant an infant and so on. And it struck me just how brief that time is. Granted, sometimes in the moment, it can seem like an eternity but take it from someone who is about to have a child who will legally be an adult, it flies! I don't understand it. Just last year I was feeding her puffs and watching endless episodes of Elmo's World and soon she'll be 18 and going around the globe for some time. Oh the anxiety!
Top 3 reasons WHY we should embrace family photography:
Document Growth - Taking from the point I made above, I don't understand how my little curly haired baby is going to be 18. Kids grow extremely fast as as quickly as they grow, we tend to forget what it was like when they were young, the rain boots they just had to wear with every outfit and how cute they were with those two missing front teeth. Plus, they provide excellent documentation in 25 years of just how crazy the trends, clothes and haircuts were ;) I'm sure they'll be some laughs!
2. Memories - Memories are powerful. Memories tie us to people, places, and emotions. Preserving these memories for the days when we may not remember, can’t remember (I'm guilty of this one), or might just need reminded of can be a beacon of hope for the future.
3. The future generations will thank you! - I know that I don't just speak for myself when I say that all of the family photography that I have in albums mean the world to me. They make me feel connected to things, people and a time when I wasn't even a twinkle in my mother's eye.
